Fans have continuously claimed this to be the best game of the assassins creed franchise, due to its following on of the stories from AC II and III and improvements.
- Recommended age 13+ violence, some language, non required alchohol consumption, basically as bad as AC 3. Some combat can get intense and chaotic, but nothing frightening.
- Set in the Golden age of piracy in the 18th century, including many different character some relating to past AC games and ones released after. Your goal is to complete the storyline to the end and then finish exploring the whole map doing side quests, then there is DLC to complete keeping the game fresh. There is also a multiplayer mode however is limited in what you can do.
- This sequence perfectly represents the game as a whole. It has on land parkour, driving a ship, fighting other ships with cannons, boarding ships (on sea combat), fighting on other ships, swimming and cut scenes. It has the main character (Kenway) engaging in a on sea battle through fighting other ships on his ship and boarding to finish them off. This has a cut scene where Kenway's friend, Blackbeard, was killed, it plays emotional music to connect to the player and uses character dialogue to also make players empathetic towards Blackbeard "In a world without gold, we might have been heroes", the facial expressions on Kenway's face during this also connected to the audience but also showing how much graphics have improved in gaming.
- It is played in third person giving players a better view of the vast free world and in this particular scene you can see how large the world is by seeing the vast seas and land all around. The graphics and gameplay quality have improved a lot especially on the next generations to the Ps3 and Xbox 360. Graphics in Black flag have are an improvement however due to developers releasing a game every year they are limited on time to make them as best as possible, nevertheless they are still good and there are many things which developers done to make it look almost like a movie like sense flare from the sun the weather that is typical of seas in that area.
- It still has basic video game elements in just a more complex way like a timing system, points/score, a winning side. These are evident in games like pong.
